Beniamino Fiorini (1993, Italy) is a composer, performer, improviser, and conductor. With over 12 years of study in electric guitar, his intensive activity as a performer also influenced his composition. During his bachelor's degree in Milan, he developed a compositional approach based on direct contact with instruments, often playing all the instruments in his recordings.
In March 2020, Beniamino completed his bachelor's degree in Milan with honors. In May 2022, he conducted and curated a significant concert at HfM Dresden featuring music by Berio, Sciarrino, Donatoni, Romitelli, and his own compositions. In July and August 2022, he conducted the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra and the Banda Sinfonica Portuguesa in Porto. In October 2022, he curated the program for the Courage Ensemble's Con Actions concert and conducted the premiere of his latest piece, "Spurlos."
In July 2023, Beniamino completed his master's degree in composition in Dresden with top honors.
His music has been performed by renowned ensembles such as Mdi Ensemble, Divertimento Ensemble, The Arditti Quartet, Sinfonietta Dresden, Ensemble Courage, Fabrik Quartet, and Mivos Quartet.
In August 2023, Beniamino gave two lectures at the Music Institute Darmstadt titled: "New possibilities for the string quartet: reflections on Stockhausen today" and "History of granulation: from Beethoven to Stockhausen."
He has recently started the master class for composition in Dresden which he has received a scholarship for.
