Composer and music theatre maker Thanasis Deligiannis (GR/NL) was artist in residence at Gaudeamus from 2017 till 2019. With his interests in interdisciplinarity and the role of the arts in society, Thanasis was a perfect match with Gaudeamus. He developed the performance ENA ENA during his residency, which eventually was staged in its final form at Gaudeamus Festival in 2022.
He is a featured artist at Venice Art Biennale 2024, together with an artistic team that presents the work Xirómero/Dryland at the Greek Pavilion. Thanasis has been artist-in-residence at Onassis AiR for 2022-2023 and the New York Foundation for the Arts in 2012. In 2013 he co-founded the Amsterdam-based company I/O focused on the creation of interdisciplinary projects. He has been active as a multimedia artist, director, composer, sound designer and performer in Europe, Asia and North America.
