The opening night of the Gaudeamus Festival focuses on Louis Andriessen’s iconic work De Staat (The Republic). The four-hour evening opens with a performance of this politically charged Dutch classic and closes with a brand new work in response to it by English composer Oscar Bettison. In between, an evening full of surprises unfolds.
