Klavikon reinterprets ‘electronic’ music without loops, laptops or sequencers, but with a unique amplified and ‘prepared’ piano. By supplementing the 88 keys with his own inventions, and objects he has found – a custom-made turntable, a robot dog – he builds a sound world of percussion, sub basses and abstract soundscapes. One of three performances celebrating the anniversary of London-based label Nonclassical, which for 20 years has succeeded in finding new audiences for music on the border between contemporary classical and electronica.
