Violinist Merel Vercammen is very succesful with performing the classical repertoire, but in her heart she’s a real improvisor. In a style that she describes as “free classical”, she aims to bring back the long standing tradition of classical improvisation, creating music in the moment.
Tonight she presents her brand-new album with improvisations that is released on the progressive Utrecht-based label TRPTK. On this album, and on this night, she improvises in several duos, with pianist Rembrandt Frerichs and cellist Maya Fridman among others.
