Disrupted Transmissions is the title of the programme devised by But What About (BWA), a promising ensemble based in The Hague, in collaboration with singer/composer Aurélie Lierman. The programme’s leitmotiv is language and communication, or miscommunication. The work composed by Lierman especially for BWA started from a collaboration that began already during the Gaudeamus Muziekweek 2018. The theme of the evening – disrupted transmissions – is perfectly suited to Club Fluxus, where a degree of recalcitrance is more than welcome.
Fluxus, which means ‘fluid’ or ‘constantly changing’, is a series in Club Nine organized in collaboration with TivoliVredenburg. This series focuses on young ensembles and musicians and consists of programmes containing a whole lot of new repertoire showcasing the latest developments in contemporary music. Where possible, the composers will be present and will discuss their own work. The small-scale and informal set-up places the audience in very close contact with the performers.
