The young Dutch ensemble Oerknal plays a programme curated by Clara Iannotta. The Italian composer, resident in Germany, won the Hindemith Prize in 2018, and is a welcome guest on the Dutch contemporary music scene. In the past she has received commissions from the Ensemble InterContemporain, the Arditti Quartet and the Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart. For Oerknal she will serve as Oerknal’s very first curator-in-residence, crafting a program featuring works that offer intriguing juxtapositions and contrasts with her own musical style.
Fluxus, which means ‘fluid’ or ‘constantly changing’, is a series in Club Nine organized in collaboration with TivoliVredenburg. This series focuses on young ensembles and musicians and consists of programmes containing a whole lot of new repertoire showcasing the latest developments in contemporary music. Where possible, the composers will be present and will discuss their own work. The small-scale and informal set-up places the audience in very close contact with the performers.
