The young Dutch ensemble Oerknal! is placing Clara Iannotta in the limelight. The Italian composer, resident in Germany, won the Hindemith Prize in 2018, and is a welcome guest on the Dutch contemporary music scene. In the past she has received commissions from the Ensemble InterContemporain, the Arditti Quartet and the Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart. In this lively programme, Oerknal! places her uncompromising work alongside music from the Renaissance and other sources of inspiration.
Fluxus, which means ‘fluid’ or ‘constantly changing’, is a series in Club Nine organized in collaboration with TivoliVredenburg. This series focuses on young ensembles and musicians and consists of programmes containing a whole lot of new repertoire showcasing the latest developments in contemporary music. Where possible, the composers will be present and will discuss their own work. The small-scale and informal set-up places the audience in very close contact with the performers.
