Club Fluxus: Temko plays Terry Riley

This concert has already taken place. Click here for our current concert programme.

A programme based around the seldom performed work Shri Camel by Terry Riley, composed in ‘just intonation’ and originally for synthesizer. To enable a performance of this work, TEMKO has built new instruments (vibraphone, guitar, bass guitar) and Aart Strootman, winner of the Gaudeamus Award 2017, has written a new arrangement.

Fluxus means ‘fluid’ or ‘constantly changing’. Club Fluxus is a series in Club Nine organized by Gaudeamus in collaboration with TivoliVredenburg. This series focuses on young ensembles and musicians and consists of programmes containing a whole lot of new repertoire showcasing the latest developments in contemporary music. Where possible, the composers will be present and will discuss their own work. The small-scale and informal set-up places the audience in very close contact with the performers.
