The gentlemen of the electric guitar quartet Zwerm are averse to any kind of compartmentalization. Together with Fred Frith, the figurehead of the avant-garde, they go in search of undiscovered sounds and textures. Expect work by both Zwerm and Frith, and, as befits a vanguard, above all the novel and unexpected nature of it. With joint improvisations they set course for unknown sound worlds, full of freedom and the sheer fun of playing.
Fluxus, which means ‘fluid’ or ‘constantly changing’, is a series in Club Nine organized in collaboration with TivoliVredenburg. This series focuses on young ensembles and musicians and consists of programmes containing a whole lot of new repertoire showcasing the latest developments in contemporary music. Where possible, the composers will be present and will discuss their own work. The small-scale and informal set-up places the audience in very close contact with the performers.
