Berlin-based French sound artist Jessica Ekomane creates cathartic, physically intense performances that focus on deceptive rhythms, psychoacoustics and a dynamic interchange of noise and melody. She is interested in individual perception versus collective dynamics, and in listening expectations and the social and societal contexts that underlie them. During Gaudeamus 2022 she will present the result of a residency she will do in June with vintage electronic instruments from the 1950s and 1960s at the Willem Twee Studios in Den Bosch.
