Canadian string quartet Bozzini loves taking risks, experimenting, collaborating and straying from the beaten track. From 20th-century avant-garde composers to contemporary drone artists, the quartet knows how to deal with them.
Every year, Quatuor Bozzini opens its Composer’s Kitchen: a professional residency programme for emerging composers with workshops and master classes, culminating in four new works for the quartet. Participating this year are Canadian composers Maria-Eduarda Martins and Louis-Michel Tougas, and Dutch-based Kavid Do and Gijs van der Heijden, who were selected in an open call in collaboration with Gaudeamus.
