Nadar Ensemble Summer School

This concert has already taken place. Click here for our current concert programme.

Flemish Nadar Ensemble is named after the pseudonym of Frenchman Gaspard-Félix Tournachon, who was a photographer, caricaturist, novelist and balloonist (!). It will therefore come as no surprise that the adventurous ensemble has a preference for composers who are also inventors in a way.

Craig Scott wrote a piece for the ensemble for “human performers with digitally mechanized appendages”, while the duo of Adriana Minu and Christine Cornwell was inspired by intimacy and musical pleasures. Golnaz Shariatzadeh dedicates her piece to everyone who died in the Iranian revolution and Piotr Peszat leaves the choices to the musicians.

This concert is a co-production between Gaudeamus, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (//hcmf) and Warsaw Autumn.
