During Gaudeamus Festival 2023, the work of 5 composers takes center stage: the 5 nominees for the Gaudeamus Award 2023. During the festival, several of their pieces will be performed, including a piece they wrote especially for the festival. At the end of the festival, one of the nominees will win the Gaudeamus Award. During the opening night, you can meet the nominated composers in a public interview with Jonás Bisquert.
The composers nominated for the Gaudeamus Award 2023 are Zara Ali, Artun Çekem, Saad Haddad, Uri Kochavi and Aya Yoshida. In the video below, the jury, consisting of Chaya Czernowin, Agata Zubel and Jan van de Putte, give some insight in the selecting process and why they chose these five nominees.
