Bec Plexus is the new alias of Brechtje van Dijk, the young composer who has created a furore in recent years with her fresh and unpredictable compositions during Gaudeamus Muziekweek and in the Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ, among other venues. She also sings in the spiky, eclectic band Jerboah, and her new solo album Sticklip builds on that: an album full of genre-shattering songs with vocals, drums, synthesizers and pioneering electronics à la Björk, Knower and Dirty Projectors. This album will be released in early 2020 by the New York-based label New Amsterdam Records.
