Rauschen
21:50 – 23:00 TivoliVredenburg – Pandora
The amazing Rauschen programme, compiled by the unconventional Nadar Ensemble from Belgium, sometimes resembles an obstacle course: while the musicians in Simon Steen-Andersen’s In Spite Of, And Maybe Even Therefore try to play a piece by Beethoven, their instruments are being dismantled. One group of musicians is playing as loudly as possible, while another group is playing very quietly, but then hugely amplified. Later on, in Lisa Streich’s Pietà, a motorized cello leads a life of its own. Michael Maierhof then reveals a rustling circus, with electric toothbrushes in the starring role. As in a museum, the public can walk around freely, through the music and past the musicians, with a tour guide showing them the way.
