Electronic musician Sofie Birch has a fascination with the healing effects of sound and vibration, and their potential to open up unsuspected channels and reach a dreamlike state of enlightened presence. Her music is serene, semi-improvised and curious. She has already created an ASMR performance together with SLØR Visual Performance / My Lambertsen, and has made music for VR experiences, multidisciplinary art and science projects. In this performance she plays pieces of her recent album Holotropica together with saxophone player Nana Pi, who also features on the album. Pitchfork wrote in their 8.0 review:
“Tiny, quivering movements jostle in the shadows of each note, and burnished surfaces gradually reveal a world of vibrating detail. It is placid but never numbing; meditative, yet not afraid to linger on a dissonant frequency or uncomfortable thought.”
