Gaudeamus and the Princess Christina Competition have joined forces this year for a unique education project for talented composers aged 15 to 19. Over a period of ten weeks five prize winners of the Competition are developing new work for and with an ensemble, a process during which they are closely supervised by composer and Gaudeamus curator Jonás Bisquert. They will also meet other young composers and share brand-new experiences. The final results will be heard during this concert.
The ensemble forms an exciting challenge for any composer, not least thanks to their line-up of accordion, (bass) clarinet, double bass and percussion. Added to this is their love of scenography and close collaboration with composers. Enough for the five chosen young composers – Jasper de Bock, Thomas Prechal, Noëmi Schermann, Maurick Reuser and Cecelia Palumbo – to sink their teeth into.
