First edition of Gaudeamus Terrapolis, our brand new concert series for adventurous, multidisciplinary performances in De Nijverheid. With three performances in the evening and two workshops by Screen Dive in the afternoon.
Sound artists Annabel Schouten, Gemma Luz Bosch and Mees Siderius enter into a dialogue with the outskirts of De Nijverheid, bringing sound and space together in their playful open-air performance Klink? Soheil Shayesteh combines his violin and kamancheh with live electronics and visuals. He bridges the gap between contemporary classical music, Persian traditional music and experimental and interactive electronics.
Luke Deane, the versatile and elusive composer who often collaborates with theater and film makers, performs with his alter ego and band Lisa and the F.I.X. An androgynous, theatrical performer who translates pure emotion into something in between folk, synthpop and prog rock. Luke Deane is also one of the curators of Screen Dive, an online platform for interactive sound art from Gaudeamus. Before the public program of Gaudeamus Terrapolis, there are two workshops by Screen Dive, for anyone who wants to gain experience building musical games and interactive works. The workshops result in a guerilla performance in the middle of the evening.
