Maya Fridman, a Gaudeamus musician in residence, tackles a challenging solo recital. The eclectic cellist is always on the lookout for new collaborations and experiments. In this concert she and her cello compete with electronics, visuals and an extra dancer. So not entirely solo after all…
Part of the programme is especially created for Maya; many composers become inspired by her musical energy and range. Post-minimalism, influences from popular music with loop stations and serial music: it promises to be a concert showing off the full breadth of contemporary music.
