‘Are you a composer too?’ During a festival such as Gaudeamus, when more young composers from all over the world gather together in one Dutch city for five days than during the whole of the rest of the year, this is perhaps the question most frequently asked by audience members. During this networking event, composers, musicians, artistic directors and programmers can meet each other in an informal setting while enjoying a snack and a drink.
In De Utrechter (the café opposite TivoliVredenburg) the get-together kicks off with a stimulating speech by an exceptional composer, which loosens tongues to engage in mutual discussion, exchange of views and meeting-and-greeting.
Following the get-together, for € 15 you can also partake of the dish of the day in De Utrechter.
