Nieuwe muziek op de Dom 2017

This concert has already taken place. Click here for our current concert programme.

Everybody who lives in Utrecht or visited the city has heard the carillon of the Domtoren. The mechanical bells sound every fifteen minutes, but on Fridays and Saturdays the carillon is played by city carillonneur Malgosia Fiebig. During Gaudeamus Muziekweek the theme of the carillon on Saturday is new music. New works for carillon were composed in cooperation with the Royal Conservatory of the Hague. A selection of the best new works is performed during this concert. Together with three selected pieces of the call for scores for carillon and with classics by Louis Andriessen and Leo Samama. The best spot to listen to the concert is the Buurkerkhof (the small square behind Museum Speelklok).
