No Patent Pending is an itinerant series of performances by the artists’ collective iii (Instrument Inventors Initiative) from The Hague, with experimental presentations at the interface between sound, image and body.
No Patent Pending #37 is an original programme including three interdisciplinary works developed by Mariska de Groot, Matteo Marangoni, Jo Caimo and Dieter Vandoren. A dazzling showcase of brand-new tools, instruments and solutions which expand the body, redesign your senses, hack existing media and codes and reinvent time and space. Shadow Puppet? is an audiovisual performance inspired by the visual music of the Russian avant-garde. A field of whirling light patterns is explored by a dancer who’s touch transforms light into sound. Lampyridae are artificial creatures which communicate between each other through light and sound. Together they form a swarm of pulsing entities, creating a space for contemplation that is fragile and unpredictable. Koorvorming is a participatory performance following in the footsteps of Dada. The audience is invited to sing together following a prerecorded voice, which functions as a musical score.
