British-American composer Oscar Bettison is one of the jury members for this year’s Gaudeamus Award. His opera The Light of Lesser Days is also on the festival programme, to be performed by Asko|Schönberg on Thursday. In this Jury Talk: Round Table he will enter into a public discussion with like-minded composers and musicians he has invited.
What does it mean to be a composer these days? What work methods are there and how do you choose? And how to deal with deadlines and stress? Bettison discusses these and other topics with his colleagues.
