In 2019 we entered into a collaboration with the Residentie Orkest for the registration process for the Gaudeamus Award. In addition to the 3 works to be played during the festival when a composer would be nomineed, composers could also submit a 4th piece for orchestra for the Award, which will not be played during Gaudeamus but will be included in the selection. We offered the Residentie Orkest to choose their favorites from the best orchestral works as chosen by the jury. From the entries for 2019, they chose the work Lung by the Icelandic/Canadian composer Fjóla Rvans. On Friday 3 December they will play it during two different concerts in Amare, The Hague, and on Saturday 4 December in De Doelen, Rotterdam.
