It has become a fixture of the Gaudeamus Muziekweek: the Gaudeamus Saturday Night, the festival-within-a-festival in which contemporary composed music, electronics and experimental pop come together. This year the programme will be fully online, with a 7,5 hour show presented by Bec Plexus and No Compliments.
Bec Plexus and No Compliments are also known as musicians/composers/band members Brechtje van Dijk and Allison Wright. Last year they debuted brand new material of their own at the Saturday Night, now they give the stage to others. For 7,5 hours they present a seamless stream of challenging audiovisual works by young makers, in a refreshing flashback to the experimental heydays of midnight MTV in the 90s.
Featuring exciting online pieces by Tak-Cheung Hui, Anna voor de Wind & Trevor Grahl, Carmen Jaci & Triangle, Genevieve Murphy, Maxim Shalygin & Viktoriia Vitrenko, Guenter Råler, Frieda Gustavs, Rafaele Andrade, Parrish Smith and Darian Thomas. Plus live surprise performances curated by Stranded FM and several contributions spread over the night by the unique ensemble Oerknal.
Between 20:00 the 21:00 the stream will change to the concert of Kluster 5 that replaces Slagwerk Den Haag & Zeno van den Broek.
