Screen Dive, our online platform for interactive musical pieces, is bridging the gap between the online and offline world at Gaudeamus 2022 with a wide range of workshops, performances, jams and more.
On the final day, there will be a festive unveiling of Screen Swarm: a project in which two teams, led by Elizabeth Jigalin and Anne La Berge, worked together for two months to create pieces that are intertwined between the real-life festival experience and the virtual realm, engaging with the public as pools of data to be gathered; participants, subjects, actors, performers etc.; a true hybrid of “IRL” (in real life) and digital.
This is followed by the Screen Dive JAM celebration! A double celebration, marking the end of Screen Dive’s trajectory in the last two years, in collaboration with Gaudeamus and with the support of Stimuleringsfonds, which started at the midst of the pandemic in September 2020, inventing and launching this platform into the world, with 20 new works by creatives from all over the world. The team and participants of Screen Dive will celebrate with a festive jam with the psychedelic sound worlds hosted on Screen Dive. But YOU can join too! Feel free to connect with a laptop, tablet or phone, or join with a musical instrument / voice and go on a journey with us from the screen onwards. Everybody is invited! So not just professional musicians, but any fan of screen and sound. Register if you want to join: firstname.lastname@example.org
