New York composer Rohan Chander, one of the nominees for the Gaudeamus Award 2022, is one of the many contemporary composers for whom writing notes on paper is no longer enough, but who want to take the stage themselves – in Chander’s case under his pseudonym BAKUDI SCREAM. In his complex, multidisciplinary work, Chander/BAKUDI SCREAM is fascinated by identity and prejudice, and the ways in which an idea of self can be shaped in performance practice. In this concert he performs solo, and Two Envelopes plays new work written by Chander.
