Workshop: Designing a reprogrammable instrument – Rafaele Andrade

This concert has already taken place. Click here for our current concert programme.

PAY ATTENTION: This is a two-day workshop. The second part of the workshop takes place on Sunday from 14:00 to 17:00 in the same location (De Havenloods). The ticket that you buy is for both days.

Brazilian/Dutch music pioneer Rafaele Andrade combines innovation, technology, sustainability and social inclusion in her work. She designed the Knurl, a 16-string cello-like hybrid instrument that works on solar energy and that can be operated and manipulated live by both performers and the audience. In this two-day workshop you will learn everything about the design and approach of digital instruments and systems that can be reprogrammed live.

Creative Coding Utrecht (CCU) is the platform for digital creativity. CCU stimulates makers, connects organisations and sectors, inspires the public and shares knowledge with students, hobbyists and ICT professionals. CCU offers opportunities for a first investigation of creative coding and emerging technologies, but can also provide more in-depth support for practising artistic professionals. We are joining forces with Gaudeamus to organise two workshops during which you learn to make music by means of code.
