Anushka Chkheidze – Intricate Pipes

Anushka Chkheidze is an electronic music composer and producer from Tbilisi, Georgia, whose genre-defying work bridges the avant-garde, contemporary classical and IDM realms. At Gaudeamus Festival 2025, she presents her new performance Intricate Pipes: a project based on Chkheidze’s long-held wish to work with the pipe organ — not in a classical sense, but as a programmable instrument expanded by digital tools.
Using Orgamats and Ableton Live, Chkheidze composes and controls intricate organ parts that would be extremely difficult to play manually —featuring layered counterpoint, complex arpeggios, and precisely timed delays. The pipe organ becomes part of an electronic setup where structure, timing, and harmony are pushed to new dimensions.

Intricate Pipes was co-commissioned by Monheim Triennale and Gaudeamus Festival, and premiered at Monheim Triennale 2025. This show is made possible by the support from Fentener van Vlissingen Fonds.
