Palestinian oud player Nizar Rohana and Iranian oud player Yasamin Shahhosseini offer an exclusive preview of their upcoming album Sujuud, featuring original compositions that blend Arabic and Persian musical elements. Their work delves into the nuanced interplay between two rich traditions, using the oud as a shared voice.
Nizar Rohana is an acclaimed oud player renowned for blending virtuosity with contemporary compositions while preserving the oud’s traditional sound. Yasamin Shahhosseini aspires to redefine both the cultural and stylistic possibilities of the oud, as well as the broader landscape of Iranian traditional music. In recent years, Nizar and Yasamin have given several successful performances, now culminating in Sujuud. They will be joined in this concert by renowned percussionist Ruven Ruppik.
