With influences from pop, electronic music, and jazz and theatrical elements, SMASH.duo tackles ingrained prejudices about classical and contemporary music. And with her mix of psychedelic animations and sultry music, Golnaz Shariatzadeh, nominated for the Gaudeamus Award 2025, creates a world to escape into.
The young German SMASH.duo of trumpeter Chloë Abbott and percussionist Moritz Koch, has set itself the mission of opening up and revamping the classical concert experience. During Gaudeamus Festival 2025 they will perform twice; on Wednesday evening with Yaz Lancaster and tonight with their own programme, breaking stereotypes.
This concert is part of the Ulysses Platform, co-funded by the European Union, and made possible with the support of the Ernst von Siemens foundation.
