Philip Przybyło (Canada, 2000) is a composer and producer of Polish descent. After studying composition with Montreal-based composer Simon Bertrand, Philip moved to Amsterdam, Netherlands, to pursue his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in composition at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where he studied under Richard Ayres, the late Wim Henderickx, Jorrit Tamminga, Maya Verlaak, and Willem Jeths.
Recently, Philip collaborated with electronic and visual artist Ping En Hung and choreographer Ming Jou Chen on a large-scale multimedia work, Ekloga - Jest Biel - Ekloga (2024), based on three poems by Polish poet Rafał Wojaczek; a combination of vocal, chamber, and electronic music with other forms of media.
Another significant aspect of Philip’s work is purely electronic music, where he produces under various aliases such as Opus Occvltiis, Helldegård, and Where Birds go to Die. Together with Amsterdam-based producer and composer Arieh Chrem, Philip co-founded the label Anekumena Tapes, which aims to showcase bold experimental music by both Amsterdam-based and international artists. As a DJ and live electronic performer, Philip has performed at venues such as OT301, Kanaal40, Tempel, and W139 in Amsterdam; Operator Radio in Rotterdam; and Chmury in Warsaw.
