Harpist Parker Ramsay plays a concert built around the piece when i am among the trees by Lucy McKnight, one of the nominees for the Gaudeamus Award 2024. She wrote it especially for Ramsay and built an installation with two harps, two organ pipes and several more elements, which Ramsay plays in between, as if surrounded and embraced by the instrument.
Under the title I laugh at what you call dissolution / and I know the amplitude of time, Ramsay put together the rest of the programme, all featuring pieces developed during and around the pandemic. All strongly personal pieces by composers who are good friends of Ramsay’s.
