Dyane Donck Company & Orkest De Ereprijs – Atmos/Spheres II

We all know how impressive immersive sound in a movie theater can be. But what happens when you use the 64 spatially arranged speakers of the Dolby Atmos sound system solely for music? And what if you also add the fourteen exceptionally talented musicians of Orkest De Ereprijs? Step into the heart of the sound and experience a new way of listening.

Atmos/Spheres II is the second edition of a multi-year research project by Dyane Donck Company, into the artistic possibilities of the Dolby Atmos sound system. In collaboration with Orkest De Ereprijs, this time the focus is on the combination of Dolby Atmos and live music. Composer Boris Bezemer was commissioned to write a new work, and Richard Ayres adapted his existing piece, Islands, for Atmos and a live ensemble. In addition, five previous works developed specifically for Atmos will be presented, including a new piece by Evelien van den Broek.
