The Hague-based sextet Ear to the Earth Ensemble presents their programme Verwilderd, based on the idea of ‘rewilding’: reintroducing wilderness and letting nature take its course in areas constructed or influenced by humans. Prior to this performance, Ear to the Earth gave several workshops in collaboration with De Voorkamer, a community center and open place where cultures can meet. The participants of these workshops wrote their own composition that will be part of this performance. Before the premiere of Verwilderd, you can also get a taste of the workshops that Ear to the Earth gave at De Voorkamer.
In a 30-minute open workshop on the square in front of Stadsklooster, we make music together using our voices, our bodies and waste materials. After an energetic warm-up, we will learn two pieces by Ann Southam and Pauline Oliveros. No prior musical experience is needed. This music will also be performed in the concert, so you are welcome to perform with us!
This workshop is part of the Ulysses Platform, co-funded by the European Union.
