Mári Mákó

Mári Mákó is a composer, instrument inventor and researcher. Her work brings together electroacoustic experimental music, interdisciplinary art and technology, not just as a tool, but as an integral part of her artistic process. Her music touches on avant-garde electronic and post-club, with a controlled but abstract sense of complexity.

For Gaudeamus Festival 2026, she is developing a new instrument for a multichannel speaker setup: a sculptural metal string instrument inspired by the forms and tradition of harp, reimagined through minimal contemporary aesthetics. With an interactive electronic design combined with the acoustical sound of the harp strings, she transforms physical gestures in real time into immersive sonic environments.
