Paneldiscussie: The Role of the Audience in Contemporary Music

This concert has already taken place. Click here for our current concert programme.

Gaudeamus is organizing a panel discussion for Ulysses members, composers and the general public. The Ulysses Network brings together European organizations that are involved in supporting and promoting young composers and musicians. During this discussion various experts from European countries will deal with issues such as: what is the role of the audience during concerts? What does that signify for the process of composition? Where can opportunities be found? What are the challenges? And – what does the audience think?

The panel members will consider, comment on and discuss this theme from every angle. The discussion will be kicked off with an opening statement by Tim Rutherford-Johnson and Componist des Vaderlands (official composer and musical ambassador of the Netherlands) Mayke Nas. Afterwards, over drinks, you will have every chance to continue the discussion.

Experts: Mayke Nas, Moritz Eggert, Daniël Cross, Tim Rutherford-Johnson
Moderator: Anthony Heidweiller
