Acclaimed saxophonist Tom Sanderman is an expert in the field of post-minimalism and contemporary composed saxophone music. In 2019 we appealed to young composers worldwide to submit work for Tom. After a year disrupted by the corona pandemic he now presents, from the response to this open call, the pieces chosen and developed.
Sanderman’s second solo album Whoever You Are Come Forth was released in October 2019, on which the the NRC Handelsblad wrote: “Sanderman combines technical precision playing with cool distance and takes you on a softly grooving glide.” Together with composer Remy Alexander he creates the podcast Oorwarmers with conversations with guests from the world of contemporary composed music.
