The first artist and projects from the Gaudeamus Festival 2025 programme have been announced today. Ticket sales for all day tickets also started. From 10 to 14 September, we will present more than 45 concerts, interdisciplinary performances, the Gaudeamus Award, workshops, lectures and a seminar, celebrating our 80th anniversary this year.
During the opening concert, Zeno van den Broek, HIIIT and Percussions de Strasbourg will take to the stage together with four percussion robots, and Gaudeamus Award nominee Yaz Lancaster will present all facets of their artistry – from composed music to death ambient. On the occasion of the commemoration of 100th birthday of the Italian composer Luciano Berio, Het Muziek (the new name of Asko|Schönberg as of September) and Silbersee will present a new version of his eclectic Recital (for Cathy), coupled with new work by Karmit Fadael.
Gaudeamus has been exploring the grey area between composed music and pop music for years, this year with a sound installation by Tessa Douwstra (LUWTEN) with director Kenza Koutchoukali and designer Marlou Breuls (House of Rubber), a radical, genre-transcending performance by Thomas Azier and the adventurous Cello Octet Amsterdam, which will perform two different concerts on Saturday evening with two adventurous pop musicians: Nyokabi Kariũki and Nana Adjoa.
The acclaimed Quatuor Bozzini will celebrate its 25th anniversary with three performances during the festival and the Dutch composer Eva Beunk and the Austrian artist Adrian Gutzelnig invite you to their Gesamtkunstwerk Netelland: a mini-festival at Fort Maarsseveen that will show a vision of the year 2169.
All concerts can be visited with a day ticket or a passe-partout; only for Netelland on Friday, Saturday and Sunday you have to buy a separate ticket, or a day ticket with Netelland surcharge.
