Canadian string quartet Quatuor Bozzini has been a welcome guest at Gaudeamus for many years. Closely linked to the hyper-creative contemporary scene in Montreal, this adventurous and radical quartet strives little by little to push the boundaries of what a string quartet can do. In this concert they play world premieres by the ‘brilliant musical scientist’, composer and video artist Nicole Lizée and 1994 Gaudeamus Award winner Richard Ayres. Ayres extends the quartet with the Dutch duo 7090: Nora Mulder on piano and Koen Kaptijn on euphonium. Plus music by the sculptor, visual artist, musician and composer Kim Farris-Manning.
